Nice review. I liked it. Meanwhile, Thought of sharing this list of best tamil web series: https://youtu.be/qOg3yiu2l9Y for others benefit. If you can come up with a similar video for these series, it will be great. Just a suggestion 🙂
Your efforts & review deserves the appreciation as much as this series does. As a tamilian, i completely engaged with the correlation between the mythology & main plot. But I'm happy that it was understood by many.
K-uh-dh-ir, not Kaaththir meaning ray of sunshine. M-uh-ayaan-uh K-o-LL-ai (graveyard loot) P-uh-ri-yeh-room P-eh-room-aal (The lord who rides the horse) Otherwise an excellent review
I was so hell bend that the old factory owner was culprit..as 25 yrs ago one girl was abducted.. and he was shown all nice and philanthrophic towards labours which could have been a camouflage.. But sad thing is even in reality studies and reports have shown child abusers are mainly one'sb own family members and relatives
I had lots of suspects right from the beginning. Each episode the mist clears a bit more & by the beginning of the last episode, I thought it was either that Business guy's dad or Guna. Turned out to be the second. Very engaging and well written script with each episode ending on a cliffhanger to leave the audience glued.
I honestly didn't think too much when the old guy told Guna why he didn't attend the festival. He entered my suspects list because of that random asthma attack and that scene getting abruptly changed.
The best take away from the show was exploring Mayan Kollai.I read about the festival and got to know about the reason behind rituals which otherwise looks darks and scary.
Undoubtedly one the greatest series of all time from start to end you couldn't skip this one. Hearty congratulations and greetings to the makers ❤️ Lot's of love from porbandar
Aishwarya Rajesh is well known for being an amazing actress. I think she chooses roles that have more meat to them. As such, most of the heroine characters in mainstream commercial films do not have a wide acting scope.
Once the families understand Nila and adhisayan were in love, they just leave it as it is as if they won't be able to do anything any more also Nandhini decides to leave home and even Sakkarai feels like the case is solved
The ending to me was not good, many people here tell me they could find the killer as soon as the series started i knew trilok wouldn't be as that would be straight forward but i didn't expect the uncle to be so What I meant to say is the ending was abrupt how the family reacted to the knowing who the killer was ,the other characters getting their arcs completed like the mother and father of the couple just seemed like they wanted to end the series as fast as possible
it's Really a great web series.. but till episode 6 it was predictable for me. So I wasn't surprised by the twists and turns..my rating would be 7.5/10, And can someone explain why they were showing that culture thing for 10 mins in slowmo in each episode. ? is there any hidden meaning im missing. ?
The character of Mukesh Vadde at 2:13 is that of a marwari business tycoon settled in Sambaloor. Being a non-native Tamil speaker, he speaks haltingly and with an accent (like me). Nothing wrong with his dubbing. Hope this helps Jammy.
The parallels between the mythological aspects and the actual underlying themes of the case makes this series an eye-candy, and I wish you pointed out the representation of the cast as it covers all diaspora: age, gender, sexual orientation, making it seem as if everyone has a role in this town, irrespective of what and who they are. Also the accurate representation of mental health struggles a potential victim may face is accurately talked about, the trauma and the way mental health is spoken is also accurate! 10/10 would recommend this for anyone willing to explore this series
Suzhal was good but overly convuluted for no reason. It was given away at Nila's funeral that Guna was the culprit. No point dragging it further. To add to the long winded story there was no need for the burning of factory to run alongside the murders of Nila and Adhisayam. What was the conclusion of Ammani's death?
R Pardhiban is a good director also. His movie will come soon. You can check out Iravin Nizhal – A shadow of Night Music by ARR Worlds first non linear single shot film.
Series is good but that festival didn't add anything significant to the main plot. From watching the trailer it looked like festival gonna play a huge part to main plot but that didn't happen. In the end it remained as mere distraction.
Su'zh'al , the 'zh' part is completely unknown to a non Tamil and Malayali's. But I vaguely know that Marathi as well has such letter in their language. Rest of the India pronounce it as 'z' as in Zebra. But as per Tamil and Malayalam, this 'zh' part is pronounced as 'rrh' the 'r' part must roll while you pronounce. Suzhal is actually Su'rrh'al. I'm a Telugu btw. Sorry If my explanation is wrong.
While it was engaging and decent watch… i felt Parthiban's casting is too much for that role. Kathir's performance was very underwhelming for me consodering his potential and the amount of screen time he got. Shreya's acting definitely made an impact. To me, vilangu waz slightly more interesting than suzhal due to screenplay and plot.

Wow kudos to Jammy his pronunciation of Tamil Words have improved a lot. Who is his Tutor??
My only peeve is Shriya Reddy, who was fantastic btw, is too young to be playing Adisayam’s mother.

Just one word

sorry but it was not that good, its ok, alot of episode was boring, they could had finish it in just 3 episode.
The best take away from the show was exploring Mayan Kollai.I read about the festival and got to know about the reason behind rituals which otherwise looks darks and scary.
This was insaneeee. reminded me of Asur in some ways..
Undoubtedly one the greatest series of all time from start to end you couldn't skip this one.

Came across the series from this video. Watched it and loved it. Please can anyone recommend similar movies/series.
Overhyped. Candy jaise h. Asur se to compare karna hi mat. It was far better.
The Inclusion of Mythology was also very well done in Asur Season 1, The show was way beyond my expectations from it.
I just have two doubts in this series
Spoilers as follows
Once the families understand Nila and adhisayan were in love, they just leave it as it is as if they won't be able to do anything any more also Nandhini decides to leave home and even Sakkarai feels like the case is solved

Loved it❤️
Can anyone explain me what was the opening scene and who was the girl running in it? And what about the girl who has disappeared when factory started?
Please change your narrative style. It's uninteresting. It's seems u r just reading the content. Fast and flat.
It's my suggestion don't mind.

I went and watched my first South Indian web series (hindi dubbed version) it was truly worth watching..
Series is good but that festival didn't add anything significant to the main plot. From watching the trailer it looked like festival gonna play a huge part to main plot but that didn't happen. In the end it remained as mere distraction.
An only review I watch even after watching any show or a movie. ❤️❤️❤️
Couldn’t go thru it
u didnt tell anything of the PRODUCTION DESIGN…i thought it was extra ordinary

Last 4 episodes 🔥🔥🔥
Hindi dubbed available?
Lawda twist , avg hai bas last ke 2 episode ache hai
Mayana Kollai in itself is stunning ritual. North friends who don't know about this, search it up
I watched first 3 episodes on last Friday and lost the interest. Yesterday again, I thought to watch one episode and ended up with 4 in a row.
I knew it when by 6th episode when the uncle uses the inhaler and when he confesses he cannot have the intimacy with his wife. He was responsible

really happy that you watched this series jamie
