link Aadhaar card to pan card is a mandatory requirement in India, as per Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The government has made it compulsory to link Aadhaar with PAN to curb tax evasion and duplicate PAN cards. By linking the two, the government can track an individual’s financial transactions more efficiently and reduce the instances of tax fraud.
Moreover, linking Aadhaar with PAN also simplifies the process of filing income tax returns (ITR) as it helps in pre-filling of personal information such as name, address, and date of birth. It also eliminates the need for providing physical copies of the documents during the ITR filing process.
In summary, linking Aadhaar with PAN is a legal requirement and also helps in reducing tax evasion, simplifying the ITR filing process, and promoting transparency in financial transactions.
